Shalom on supporting the Iraqi resistance

I'm not sure if many people outside of the International Socialist Organization have been making the argument that U.S. antiwar activists should start "supporting" "the Iraqi resistance" but it seems clear to me that if the position ever gains much traction in the movement it will do a lot to undercut us. I was thinking of writing about the matter but Stephen Shalom has come out with an excellent essay on the topic that makes this unneccesary.

On the other extreme, according to an ISO aquaintance the New York and Boston branches of United for Peace and Justice (the Boston branch being known as United for Justice with Peace [UJP]) refused to support the March 19/20 2005 protests in their respective cities against the Iraqi occupation because some of the organizers supported the resistance.
